You must remember this ... a cap is still a cap

Capablanca (1942) is a romantic drama set in unoccupied Africa during World War II. Humphrey Bogart, played by Sales Rep Greg, is an American expatriate who meets a former lover, Ingrid Bergman, played by our very own Sales Assistant Angie. Their tragic and ill-fated romance is limited to their faces being photographed and Photoshopped to this calendar image.
I took photos of Angie and Greg, and then smashed them onto this calendar image. For Angie, I took a closeup photo of her in our breakroom, and then Photoshopped two hot-glued domed lids to her head for her “cap.” Hence, Capablanca. Get it?

Two polypropylene caps and a bit of glue. |
None of us had a white dinner coat (how often do YOU wear a white dinner coat?), so we just used Matt’s white lab coat (scientist guy from CPS Videos) and a bow tie from my tuxedo (yes, I have a tux. You never know when you’ll need one!). After some brief coaching on looking pensive and conflicted, we caught the perfect shot.

I then added some palm trees, a cool tower from Morocco, some mysterious silhouettes, texture and grit to create our January Calendar: Capablanca.
