Wax on, Wax off – Introducing The Karate Lid

Picture it, last Saturday morning. Sitting on my couch, slowly emerging from a sleepy stupor; I stumble upon The Karate Kid on television. It's the original 1984 version, the one that was around way before DVDs, Tivo and even me!
I watch for a moment, taking note of the majesty of the cinematography as Daniel-son (or whatever the old sensei guy calls him) practices his special praying mantis-like kick, poised atop a rugged rock on a pristine beach at sunset. It's a sight to see, but something is missing.
Now, I don't claim to be martial arts movie master (or an aikido aficionado for that matter) but I do know that no karate film is complete without an element of swagger. Today you've got to have style to keep a story alive. Take escaping an ambush through a burst of fire. That's style.
The 2010 remake of The Karate Kid captures edgy China streets, where you never know what, or who lurks around each corner. Jaden Smith is scorned and rebellious while Daniel-son seems to mistakenly wander into confrontations. To put it simply, the reshaped classic tale brings ego and pride into the mix.
The updated Karate Kid did for the original film what we do for plastic lids of all styles and sizes, offer a modern and effective spin on a classic. Plastic lids have been around for as long as you can remember, right? But did they always offer variety in functionality, appearance and style? I think not.
In honor of our September 2011 calendar image take a look through our expansive collection of plastic lids. Disc tops, flip tops, spouts and push/pull lids are just the beginning. Like your first karate lesson, just establishing the basics. Push the limit further with a plastic lid and liner partnership. Any plastic lid matched up with an F217, PS or HIS liner is sure to dominate over the meanest Beverly Hills or Beijing bully.
Wave bye-bye to summer with confidence, aware that as the season of fun in the sun whips past, you've found a treasure that lasts all year long, style. Play the field; try on every plastic lid necessary until you find your product's signature essence. One equivalent to Daniel-son's praying mantis kick.
Don't get so caught up in the plastic lid makeover hype that you forget to download this month's wallpaper. By command from the sensei, may The Karate Lid inspire you through all thirty days of September.
