Plants are some of the world's most beautiful displays. Bright and fragrant flowers vary throughout the world, but all possess a mysterious ability to enliven the lives of those who behold them. To trace the path of a lush and strong green vine, as it surges to unknown heights is a spectacle to be seen by all. Overwhelmed by the physical allure of plants, observers are often caught unaware that further enchantment awaits within the fascinating organism.

Essential oils represent the liquid essence of plants. Depending on the plant, these oils can be obtained through several methods, with distillation being a preferred approach. The practice is completed by steaming plants and allowing the moisture released to concentrate into a liquid. This liquid is that particular plant's essential oil, often identified by the scent of the plant from which it came.

Essential oils are used in countless everyday products. That refreshing scent and cool feeling you get when you use certain cosmetics, that's essential oils at work! Or the citrus smell of your favorite cleaning product, that's essential oils as well. These fragrant additions also compliment lotions, perfumes, candles, soaps, and even some food flavoring. It might sound fun, but don't attempt to create your own food flavoring without expert advice. No essential oil should be consumed without professional discretion and all should be kept out of reach of children, as some products are toxic.

Due to their potency, pure essential oils are known to be potentially damaging to packaging. These products are best paired with glass bottles and metal bottles. Essential oils need to be kept in a dark and dry environment to stay fresh for an extended period of time. We carry glass bottles in clear, as well as in amber and cobalt blue to prevent light damage, available in a variety of sizes. Metal bottles can also be found in 2, 4, and 8 oz options. Products that contain diluted essential oils, such as lotions or soaps are best packaged in aluminum or PET plastic bottles. Our extensive PET inventory consists of amber, cobalt blue, green, and clear plastic bottle options.

Thought to have healing capabilities, the use of essential oils to treat physical and mental ailments has made way for the study of aromatherapy. This discipline focuses on the inhalation of the oil's scent through bath oils or candles as well as the absorption of the nutrients through massage oils and lotions. Read about how to maximize your product's aromatherapy appeal with the addition of essential oils.

Lavender is one of the most commonly used essential oils. A sweet floral fragrance, highlighted by traces of herbal presence translates to a calming, relaxing, and possibly even sleep-inducing experience. Frankly, I'm surprised you're still awake to read this. This plant extract is known to soothe the discomfort of everyday aches and pains. Throw lavender in a plastic bottle and you've got a pain-relieving sleep aid.

Cinnamon is on the other end of the essential oil sleep spectrum. Known to battle against drowsiness and awaken the senses, cinnamon's sweet aromatic essential oil contributes to products ranging from food flavoring to home candle scents. Another stimulating essential oil, peppermint is cloaked by an easily recognizable minty scent. Like cinnamon, peppermint essential oil is often used in food products.

Eucalyptus is grown on Australian Gum trees. Its robust earth and wood-based scent overwhelms some and energizes others. Available in many forms, one kind of eucalyptus is known to revitalize the respiratory system following a cold and another serves as an outdoor repellent. So, whether you're looking to package a cosmetic rub or a bug spray, bottle up some eucalyptus today!

If your business or specific product line includes essential oils remember to make the most of your packaging. Use glass or aluminum bottles to store concentrated oils and either aluminum or PET plastic bottles to house mixed products containing essential oils. Now, go forth and make things smell majestic!
