When storing food always remember to keep everything clean.
Wash your hands and arms in warm soapy water before preparing and handling
any food. Wash the storage containers that will hold all food. Make
very sure these containers are completely dry. It is often recommended
to freeze all dry goods for up to a week before storing to help destroy
any 'creatures' that may be dormant or in egg form - especially if your
purchasing a new (to you) brand of food and don't know it's quality.
Not all food is created equal. Heat will also cause food to decline
in quality. Store all food storage containers away from heat ducts,
clothes dryers, sunlight and other sources of heat.
